You've been through something that most people haven't. And that experience — as hard as it was — has given you something genuinely rare: the understanding of what it feels like to care for someone you love through the last stage of their life. That's exactly what Violet Guides bring to the people they support.

What is a Violet Guide?

Violet Guides are people who have personally cared for a loved one through the last stage of life. They bring that lived experience — alongside training and ongoing support from Violet — to provide free, evidence-based phone support to families across Australia who are navigating the same journey.

It's not counselling. It's not clinical advice. It's something often more valuable than either: genuine understanding from someone who has truly been there.

Who we're looking for

If you have lived experience caring for someone in the last stage of life and feel ready to share the wisdom gained from that experience, we'd love to hear from you.

Guides are trained and supported by Violet, and remunerated on a per-session basis for programs funded through the Carer Gateway.

Our next intake opens mid-2026

We will be opening our next Guide intake in mid-2026. If you'd like to be considered, please complete the expression of interest form below and we'll be in touch.

Once you register, we'll email you with everything you need to know about the role. Our Practice Lead will then contact you to schedule a conversation and discuss whether the Violet Guide role is right for you.
